Rebrot
- Tue, 9 Dec – Wed, 30 Dec 09.12. - 30.12.
- IVAM - Institut Valencià d'Art Modern, Valencia
Rebrot is an exhibition project that gathers eleven works from the IVAM collection affected by the flood of 2024 that inundated the Riba-roja de Túria warehouse. After a process of restoration, the pieces — eight sculptures and three paintings — are presented again to the public, acquiring a renewed symbolic dimension linked to the concepts of repair, resilience, and collective reconstruction. The exhibition constitutes the first phase of a long-term initiative between the IVAM and the Universitat de València aimed at bringing contemporary art closer to the university community and, especially, to the young public. The project integrates the works into everyday spaces — classrooms, corridors and common areas — transforming them into places of coexistence, learning and reflection. After the flood of 2024, 128 works from the IVAM collection were affected. The museum's restoration team established a phased action plan, managing to intervene on 70 pieces throughout 2025. Rebrot presents a selection of these restored works, highlighting the process of recovery of artistic heritage.
