The quartet led by saxophonist Francisco Blanco “Latino” pays tribute to the leading figures of cool jazz (1948–55) with a selection of the finest compositions from this era. We’ll enjoy tracks by Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Paul Desmond and Art Farmer, amongst others, reviving timeless melodies such as ‘Line for Lyons’, ‘Stardust’, ‘All the Things You Are’, ‘Festive Minor’, ‘Walkin’ Shoes’, ‘Bernie’s Tune’, ‘Open Country’ and ‘Carioca’.

The great originality of this quartet lies in the absence of a piano, which results in a sound akin to what we might call chamber jazz: baritone saxophone, trumpet, double bass and drums. This ensemble already has a long track record, with over a hundred live performances at festivals, concert series and cultural centres throughout the country.
