The Price of the Network is a film described as a "complementary piece" to "The Social Network." It focuses on the events that take place almost two decades after the genius programmer and a group of technology pioneers invented what would eventually become the largest social media platform in the world. It tells the real story of how Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, gets the help of Jeff Horwitz, a reporter from the Wall Street Journal, to embark on a dangerous journey that ultimately uncovers the most hidden secrets of the social network. Horwitz's reportage, a series of articles known as "The Facebook Files," was published in 2021 and exposed the harmful effects of Facebook on teenagers and its proliferation of misinformation, which contributed to acts of political violence. The movie is directed by Aaron Sorkin and has a runtime of 112 minutes, with English language and Spanish subtitles.
